Arizona 2006-2007

Here we are in sunny and, right now, hot Arizona. We have been here since the end of October, 2006, as resident volunteer hosts for the Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park. Resident hosts put in 20 hours of work each per week doing tasks such as tour leading, staffing the contact station, and assisting with other aspects of a successful park. In return, we are allowed to park our RV here on the grounds and have access to the park 24/7. We are really enjoying this corner of Arizona, especially all the birding opportunities we have and the chance to learn about and see different plants than what we're used to. Right now most of the cacti are blooming, even a rare bromiliad from central Chile that blooms only once in 5-6 years. This one last bloomed in 2002. Here are some pictures from our adventures over the last few months.
